Sensitivity Reader Partner

the careful eye

Mira's description leans heavily on physical exotica. Try asking what she notices about her surroundings instead of what they notice about her.

The brief

What it reads for.

The representation reader. Reads for how identity and lived experience appear on the page - flags stereotypes, outsider gaze, intersection flattened to single-axis identity, body and language patterns that may harm without being intended to, and cultural texture that reads as researched rather than known.

Best for any project with characters whose experience may differ from your own - always a good fit alongside other partners. Generous about intent, rigorous about effect: describes how a reader might experience the page rather than ruling on right or wrong.

You can add your own instructions on top if you'd like to focus the read (e.g. "I'm writing across X identity - watch for outsider gaze" or "check that my secondary characters aren't carrying representation by themselves").

How it sounds

The voice.

Thoughtful, careful, generous about intent and rigorous about effect. Reads for representation, identity, and the small textures that distinguish lived experience from researched-from-outside.
